About Kabochan

Atsuko Sato, a kindergarten teacher in Japan, adopted Kabosu from an animal shelter in November 2008.
Kabosu had a difficult start in life as she was originally bred in a puppy mill, which eventually closed down.
When the mill was shut down, many of the dogs, including Kabosu, were taken to a shelter.
Kabosu was not in good shape when she arrived at the shelter.
Despite this, Atsuko Sato decided to adopt her after seeing her at the shelter.
Sato named her Kabosu after a type of citrus fruit because her face was round like the fruit and call her "Kabochan".
Since her adoption, Kabochan has lived a happy life with Sato and has been well-loved and cared for.
Atsuko Sato began sharing photos of Kabochan on her blog and social media, showcasing her daily life and adorable expressions.
One of these photos, featuring Kabochan with her paws crossed and a curious, side-eyed expression, became the iconic "Doge" meme.
This meme went viral, turning Kabochan into an internet sensation and the face of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency.
Atsuko Sato continues to share updates about Kabochan and her other pets on her blog and social media,
where fans can follow their daily adventures.
